I Like that Ski idea Streets, thanks. I have to give you the long version. I made one half track pass cause it got a little out of shape and I was being on the cautious side. Came back for my second run and got delayed in the staging lanes behind a Funny Car. While I was standing watching the other cars run, and waiting my turn, I heard my name over the PA. When I got to my car one of the track officials was standing there with two of my lug nuts in his hand, and there was still most of the studs left in them. He says I think there is a problem. I drove verrrry carefully back to my trailer, and just when I stopped, the last stud broke, and the tire just sort of layed over. No damage. Just embarrasment. I had a bunch of offers to have some new studs brought to the track from a speed shop down the street, but I am a very strong believer in fate, and something was telling me I was done for the day. We managed to get it back in the trailer, and headed home. Checking the lug nut torque was one of those things that I thought my son did, and he thought I did. Human error, plain and simple. The more I think about it, and look over the wheel and rotor, I am convinced they were loose. Man, do I feel like a clone! There will be a new note on the trailer wall, "CHECK YOUR NUTS!"
