Bent and broken
In case you were wondering what the stuff looked like afterwards, here's the damage report. Great for going around corners now. Stay tuned for more video clips.
The remains of the rear driveshaft loop.
This bar is not supposed to be shaped like a snake.
Notice the new "D" shaped holes. I'd like to see a drill bit do that!

pro, the rule says the loop must be WITHIN 6" of the front joint, not further behind. It could be right at the joint and be legal.Mike Casella

Ain't racin fun ????
Back in my early circle track days, hoops or fire suits for that matter wern't mandatory, I broke a front u-joint and when it dropped it bounced off the track cut thru the floor and the fiberglass seat and just tickled my butt (Thank God) then it dropped again dug into the pavement and pole vaulted the car but it landed on all 4 and being too young and dumb to think about a hoop, got another shaft and was racin the next weekend. Back then we raced in T-shirts and most stock cars had a V.W. fuel tank in the trunk area carrying 10 gallons of 105 octane, Ain't real sure how most of us made it thru the late sixties & early seventies (LOL)

Yup. I'm actually enjoying this.
When this thing broke everyone from the tower came out, along with the starting line people, and even the track manager. They were expecting me to be a little upset. If I were a younger lad I probably would have been. I just stood there smiling and the track manager said the main reason it broke was the fact that I was TRYING TO MOVE 12,000 LBS DOWN THE TRACK! It got a laugh there anyway. I think he was more upset than I was. He kept asking me how long before it gets fixed and when can I come back. He likes the car, and a few people have asked him how often I run. So, yes I really do enjoy it.Mike Casella

Hey Streets, when I was talkin to the person at Strange Engineering today, I told them I wanted the rear yoke to be made out of Unbreakabilium. The girl said, no problem, cause most of their stuff is made out of either unbreakabilium, or unbendabilium. They are experimenting with Sillypuddyium also for their "special" customers, so I gave her your name. Funny thing was she already had it. Go figure.Mike Casella

Now if they could just combine the unbreakabilium with the lowcostabilium then we'd be in business!Somewhere out on Woordward ave. cruzin!
