    Drag'n in The 50's

The 18th Annual Drag'n in the 50's presented by the Mass Street Rod Association, featuring the East Coast Gassers will be held on Sundaaay, August 29th. This event features Nostalgia Drags, a Car Show, and a Swap Meet and is open to all vehicles 1972 & older only. Come on up to New England Dragway to see some cool Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, and wild Kustoms!

Anyone besides me going? Will the "Al Show" make the trip south to N.H.? Let me know and I'll save you a spot. This plans to be a large turnout.

It sounds like fun. I guess I can take a day off from working on cars and spend the day looking at cars. My 20 day temp registration on the 69 Caddy ran out Thursday so I'll have to leave it home. At 10 MPG I can't afford to drive it anyway.
I'm not really sure though. After getting that bikini picture from Meag I might just end up in Salem instead of Epping.

61????? Oh Streets, such a mistake! Yes, I was there for the entire weekend. The only day that really counted was Sunday though. I'll see about getting the video clip uploaded as soon as I can. In the mean time, I managed a new best of 9.638 @138.53. YAAHOOOO!! I even got to meet the Al Show! He made the 3 hr trip from Maine to share a Gatorade with me. Oh, I almost forgot, my reaction time was .527 on that same run. The rains came when it was time for eliminations and the day got cancelled. Oh well, there's always a next time.

Well, to be exact it was 138.53 mph, and that extra 2 mph sounds like such a small amount, but it is harder than you think. I'm sure it will happen, it's only a matter of time.

Well, there is just no doubt about uppin that speed to 140 eventually now is there...like you said just a matter of time...and from what I understand just a few more hours under de hood! I joined CHR for info about cars...and now i'm thinkin of becoming an offical CHR Groupie...is there a forum for groupies?.... " Ladies throw your panties on the stage...er uh i mean drag strip"

I bought my car this summer...an she's a pokey one...however, the first time that i got a little kick and squeal in 3rd...an i mean it wuz little! I got this funny rush that was a combination of "what the heck was that... " an "hey, let's do it again sweetie"....made me start thinkin that i'm not always gonna be satisfied with a lil kick...ha ha!

Streets...you outta take him up on that 8mm conversion...i did that with a whole bunch of family video and it was soooooo worth it! Besides...then those of us that don't know "Streets...The Man & The Legend!" can see the legend in action and that would be awesome!!!! The 8mm's loose color etc over time and if you convert it now it'll save it for a whole lot longer! Specially if ya got a buddy who's willing to do it for ya...i had to pay like $35 per roll!!!!!

When we went to the races last weekend, we arived Friday. Saturday was the "Import Wars" race. We never went in the track that day, we just stayed out in the motor home and stayed nice and cool in the AC as it was pushing 95 degrees. Besides, I saw all the "T" and "W" I needed right where I was. The "T" and "W" refers to Tailpipes and Wings.

    Hey Pro60,
How long is the "strip"? I just realized that the numbers don't mean anything to me if I don't know the distance on the drag...
Oh, now come to think of it...there's probably lots of you guys that can answer that...

I'm supprised no one has answered you yet. The track I race on is 1/4 mile from the starting line, to the finish line, then I have another 2600 feet, or roughly 1/2 mile to slow down before running into the sand.
