engine id
I HAVE SPENT HOURS ON THIS SITE AND LEARNED ALOT JUST READING POSTS.I FOUND 3 SITES POSTED HERE THAT IDENTIFIED MY MOTOR.BUT I COULD NOT PINPOINT EXACT YEAR OR RATED HP,OR THE VEHICLE IT ORIGINALLY CAME IN.I KNOW IT IS 396/402 1970-1972.FRONT PASSENGERS SIDE PAD IS CE171110 WITH THE THIRD ONE BEING UNDERLINED.BLOCK CAST # 3969854 IS ON DRIVERS SIDE REAR OF BLOCK.WHAT THE HECK IS CE, THE PREFIX IS SAID TO BE REPLACEMENT BLOCK OR OVER THE COUNTER.DOES THAT MEAN MY ENGINE COULD BE A REMANUFACTURED AUTOZONE CRAP.I AM CURIOS TO HOW MUCH FACTORY HP AND IF IS VERY RARE.I BOUGHT THIS MOTOR ALREADY REBUILT SO I KNOW THE HP WILL BE DIFFERENT.BUT LOOKING THROUGH THE CODES I SEEN 240,300,325,375 FACTORY HORSE. I CHECKED MORTEC, NASTYZ28,AND ONE OTHER. ANY FURTHER HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
