Ford ignition module wiring question...
Hello everyone. I am wondering if the three wires from the distributor plug directly into the three wire plug on the ignition module? All I have to go by is looking at the wiring harness in my F-100 truck, but the harness is all taped up, and hidden for the most part.
I am wondering this because I am mounting the ignition module under the dashboard to keep it out of the elements, and away from the engine heat. I would like to just elongate the three wires so they will reach from the module inside, through the frame rails, and up to the distributor. Will this work?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Greg

Relocating the module works fine, I have done it on lots of cars. Like Tech said, it's best to keep the same color wires, and soldered connections are essential to maintian proper voltage and resistance.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Cool...thanks for the answers. Overall, the ign. mod. will be about 6' from the distributor; at that length, do you think the wire should be a heavier guage?
Thanks again,
Greg
