Through being sick of hard starts, having to pay $75 for an EGR valve and hoping to never see this car in my driveway again for "Power Issues" I think i have stumbled on a good cheap power boost for 5.0s. By taking a piece of flat stock(I used aluminum i had lying around) And drilling two holes for the EGR mounting studs and one for the nipple on the egr valve itself, This is a very efficent and effective EGR block plate. Also, it fools the computer into believeing the EGR valve is still working therefore setting off no Error codes. So far there have been no knocking issues, it idles a lot smoother and has much better pickup. Starting is now on the 2nd turn of the motor. The only possible downside to this approach is Emissions may not pass, but most 5.0 plenum-style motors are now only required to pass visual inspections. Just thought i would drop that off to the ford people on a budget
