Don't be discouraged by your choice for dual quads....put it on and use the carbs you have (450's ) these are not to much...
The first aspect of good tuning is learning how to set the carbs....run them in a 1:1 ratio and rejet the carbs accordingly....
Many are right the this set up will not be as responsive as a single 4 barrel set up but hey who cares....it's eye candy....
we put a dual 4 tunnel ram on a weak chevy 267 and got good performance and still knocked off 16mpg
key part is selecting the dual 4 tunnel ram...choose the one suited for the lowest rpm range and you'll be happier.... I"m thinking weiand
max flow you'll put thru your engine is cubic inches x rpm ~ 3456
example 350 x 5,500 ~ 3456= 557....but your carbs won't know that...
I have a 400 with 2 600's and wind it 4500rpm so thats
400x4500~3456= 520.... well i'm good....any one who thinks I got to much carb should get beside me....hah hahLast edited by dr_bowtie; 02-05-2005 at 10:20 PM.

My sentiments exactly. Plenty of power from a dig; she launches like she's been shot off the Kitty Hawk. Rebuilding the carbs resolved the issue I'd mentioned in my previous post. I can't get the chokes to open, though. I'll post that in a new thread.
The eyes-like-fried-eggs looks I get driving this sucker around downtown are worth all the headaches and lost knuckle skin.
Now, on to the cosmetics. . ..Last edited by Was_II; 02-06-2005 at 08:19 AM.

Nope, it's a built C4 with a shift kit. I would imagine it needs a stall converter.Dual Quad Tunnel Rammed "Are you INSANE?" 5.0L H.O. '78 Mustang II

We took turns romping the new rig a couple of weekends ago and got some video footage. A good friend of mine was kind enough to host the vid for me on his personal site. (Short vid, ~ 5 sec.)

Next comes a posi and a paint job. Thanks for all your help.

From the looks and sound from your video, looks as if it's running pretty good! Listening to it, i think a stall converter or deeper gears or both would be in order though.
What rear gears do you have? If you're going to go posi, then that'd be the time to gear down. (up- numerically)
