shoud be simple just look at casting numbers on the block. One set of castings is a date casting,it will go like 17 B 3 this breaks down to 17th day of month b= february and the last digit is the year 3 = 1973, it would not be a 1963 because it would not have the early block breather hole.
To positively identify the block you would need the VIN code stamped into the pad on the frount passenger side deck of the block, this would give the car, year, and hp rating.
