429/460 stroker
hi guys, thanks for the info on engine id i never new they were the same as the way fe motors are id'd, anyway ive heard some guys talk about stroking a 429 to a 460 by swapping the crank well my question is why not just use a 460? And if i do swap out cranks what do i buy pistons for a 429 or 460 and what rods do i use thanks for any info.Women are just like cars run'em hard and treat'em rough and they'll eventually leave you stranded

Swapping the 460 crank into a 429 would require pistons made for a 460. You can use your 429 rods as they are the same length and end sizes as the 460. The pin height on the pistons is changed to make up for the difference in stroke. Hope this helps you.Duane S

A 429 will rev a little quicker, a 460 will produce a little more torque than a 429. Other than that it's just 71 more CI.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
