Question Can I use 283 parts on a 350 block

I am trying to restore a 1960 Chris Craft Mahogany boat with a 283 Chevy marine engine. The engine is shot, and I am thinking about buying a 350 long block and transfering the headers, the manifold, the oil pan, and transmision, but I'm not sure if every thing will line up. By the way the transmision mounts on the front of the engine.

I was hoping I could find someone who has tried exchanging parts and could let me know if every thing would fit or not. I would appreciate any help.

Everything you listed will bolt right up, except technicly, it dosn't have a transmission, it has a lower unit, which is the steering gears and props, with the bell housing and flywheel from the 283, it will work fine, but, your also gonna want the 283 air cleaner carb, and distributor, the carb because it's marine, the air cleaner because it has a spark arrestor and the distributor, to make wiring the engine simple.
You don't know what you've got til it's gone
