Chevy 4 cyl Info???
Could anyone give me rod specs for a 66 chevy II 4 cylinder 153 CI? The stroke should be 5.7 inches. I need the journal diameters of the rod at both ends. I would also be looking to purchase racing parts for this engine (rods, pistons, dry sump pan, Etc). Thanks for any info!!!

5.7 inch stroke would be kinda British-like
The 153 was a 3.875 bore by 3.25 inch stroke motor. The rod length was the same as a small block and the rods are probably the same....why not just go ask the Chevy parts man to look it up? Also, the Mercury Marine 153 is the same with some higher quality parts.
Lots of them were used in dirt cars.

Sorry. I meant a 5.7 inch rod, not stroke. There is very little info still available for this engine. I just know there are a lot of guys here that really know their stuff. I was told the sbc rod is too narrow at the crank. Trying to verify some he said she said stuff. This engine will also be going in a dirt car. It will be in a midget raced in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Thanks again,
Jason

i built up one of these little guys for my boat bigger cam valves ported head and higher comp it works darn good
i am limited to my carb size as it has a mercruiser manifold exhaust syst.
check clifford performance for some parts and i think i got my cam from crane but not shure as i had a shop put the thing together.
mine shure runs strong in a 17.5 ft older deep v boat i get about 45 mph , impressive for just a 4
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
