Question Distributor choice for 327 in model A

I,m looking at buying a MSD ready to run distributor and coil for my 327 powered model A project. I used an old points style Mallory for mock up, clearance is an issue and the MSD unit is the same diameter. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I believe that Davis Unified Ignition makes a small cap HEI system that I have only herd good things about. I have seen them at Pamona Swap meet in Calif. sorry I don,t have the web site. Ed ke6bnl

Unless you're dead set on putting a MSD in her, I'd clean up and rebuild the Mallory and put a Petronix unit in it. That's what I'm running in the 289 in my '66 Mustang and it works great.

I've used the Mallory Unilite with good success.

I have one of Dave Ray's small bodied HEI conversions in my roadster and he is doing one now for my Olds 215.

Dave has recently relocated to the Reno, Nevada area.

If you already have the Mallory body just put a Mallory Unalite conversion in it .
