a guy down the street from me is offering to sell me his 49 Packard Clipper, its running a caddy 500 motor, with a 4speed, its been chopped and tubbed out.... hes offering $3000..... he doesn't know much about the car because it was his brothers, and his brother died and left it to him....i dont know much about the caddy 500 motors, so i was wondering if this would be a good buy? or should i probably stay away from it

Duh, this a running car with a 4 speed. Buy, buy, buy. $3000 is cheap at as long as the car isn't rusting off the frame. I've seen Clippers go for twice that stock and rust buckets.

Caddies put out great power, lots of torque. When you get back from buying it, post some pics. Hard to beat a deal like that if it is any kind of body at all !!!!
