Looking for anyone that has used the Carabine ECU for their fuel injection system.

I've got one. Haven't used it yet. Which set up do have have or are you looking at?

I would be interested in knowing how this performs when you do run it. I currently have a genIV accell super ram on a 406 sbc. Very complex and was a pain in the fanny to tune. I understand the new generation ECU's are more user friendly but I am still not convinced. Even the new electronics seem to take a lot of dyno time to calibrate. The Carabine unit seems to good to be true and you know what they say about to good to be true. I am starting a 35 Ford truck with a 354 hemi. I am thinking about the Hilborn with Carabine electronics. I like the idea of the efficiency one is supposed to get with electronic fuel injection. I took mine to Reddings Cool April Knights about a month ago and the trip over the high altitude pass from Portland was gravey. Ran optimally. Still don't like the investment in set up and tuning it took to get it to this point. Keep in touch. If you hear of others who have the Carabine please pass it on.

Mine has a Hilborn 4 injector rail. From asking around I'm a little concerned about this set-up. Sounds like an 8 or even a 16 injector unit is the better way to go. I'm only going by what I've been told though. I'm going to give this set-up a try before I invest any more $$$$.

There seem to be so many claims by different companies I guess a person would be better off going from references by other users than accpeting claims by the manufacturer. I am using the FAST system on my 61 corvette and should have this running by end of summer. The programing and tuning method seems to be close the the Accell unit. If there is such a thing as simplicity when it comes to fuel injection I would think that system would be the leader in fuel injection technolgy. Where did you make the purchace of your Carabine system from ?

Phillip Lofton / Rally Enterparises. BTW: He's out of business. Can't get ahold of him and his web site is gone. Not a warm fuzzy feeling. Might have to deal directly with Hilborn when i get the engine together. That's a ways down the road / I'm still building the chassis.
