learned something neat today
talking to a farmer gearhead today that told me how he has unsiezed engines that have locked up.
he built a adaptor that can screw into the spark plug hole and then hooks it up to his tractors hyd syst . he advised that he gently apples pressure to the motor with all other cylinders oiled down and no matter how bad the motor it will move.
i asked him what was left after that and he advised it does not seem to cause any severe damage unless the engine was complety crapped to start with
he just kepps going from cyl to cyl and slowly turns the motor over .

Leave it to a farmer to come up with a creative solution to a problem."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Don't misuse Hydraulics! They can be a very dangerous friend if used incorrectly, with or without correct PPE.

I suppose it would turn. That's kinda like cranking up the boost to 1,750psi or more. Probably wouldn't do any more damage to the engine than thattheres no foo like an old foo

heres a question on this line what type of loads does a combustion engine experience when under load ie cylinder pressures. its got to be also pretty high at times.
i agree with andy about hydraulics being dangerous .
when i was young i had trouble unhooking a implement from a tractor and while trying to uncouple the hydraulics a tiny amount of oil was released under pressure caught me on the hand blew the stuff right under my skin and into the piece of meat between my thumb and forefinger like nothing . off to the doctor we go.
I did not know Mike very well, we exchanged some messages from time to time but from what I understand he was a very good man. I was sad to learn about this
