have you got the motor hanging and the cradle loose? if you have sounds like you got more bolts in the pan.Mike

Lt1 has a point. raise the motor more and run your hand along the sides of the pan. if you dont feel anything, look for overhang by the ends of the pan.Right engine, Wrong Wheels

What year Corsica? If it's an aluminum pan, it's cross-bolted into the main caps on the sides (mains 1,2,&3). Bolts are 15mm head (?) and have seals pan side.
If it's tin, be sure to loosen/remove the front mount bracket or the pan won't drop down far enough to clear the mains.
Hope this helps.

Hey projoe86 - found a similar thread here on CHR:
Searched Yahoo - and it sent me back here!
You're definately in the right place.

jramshu said - Just an update. This was a pain. Had to remove motor mounts(1 upper and 2 lower). Lift engine with jack. Hold rear frame up on stands. Remove pass. tire, tie rod, lower ball joint, serp belt, ac comp, starter, and a lot of plastic. Six oil pan to main bolts. And so on. Remove 4 bolts on frame and lower frame as low as possible. Then you can remove the pan thru the passenger side. Takes a whole 10 minutes to install new pump and a day and a half to get to it and put it back together.Last edited by SBC; 06-21-2005 at 08:43 PM.
