    383 stroker or 350 4 bolt mains

I have a 73 ventura and i was thinking about fitting either a 383 stroker or a 350 4 bolt in it.what do you think good or bad idea. what would the cost be for either one of these engines if they needed moderate reconditioning. Also if anybody knows of any interior parts or body parts for a 73 ventura hatchback please let me know.Thankyou.

I fail to see the attraction of a 383 stroker. If you're going to use the 400 crank, why not use the whole 400? More cubes, stock parts and reliability. The crankshaft is the weak link in a 400, if you got that anyway, might as well have the cubes. Why spend big bucks to effectively debore a 400? Cutting down the mains to fit a 350 block weakens the crank , making it more of a weak link.

383 & 350 both use the same block...so why the concern about 4-bolt mains on the 350, but not the 383?
I kinda side with Pope ....if I have a 350...& I have to buy a crank & pistons anyway, for what ever reason...O.K., than Id go ahead & make it a 383.....if I had a good usable crank & pistons that suit my needs ,Id keep it a 383. John
