    Question for Chevy37

I remember that you had to change your float levels on your Rochesters on the 3X2 setup and I was wondering if you remember what level you ended up with.

Even with the speedway conversion kit on mine, it doesn't run right using the 3X2 float settings listed in the rebuild kits. (Floods sometimes when you stop or park with it setting down hill)

I figure as long as I got the whole thing apart to redo the heads, I might as well reset them to something that works and redo the fuel lines to something a little shorter.

    Thanks in advance.

Duane Sorry it's taken me so long but just got out of work. My problem was I had to much fuel line pressure almost 7 and most rochester carbs work best at 3 to 5 psi. With to much pressure it pushed the float valve open. I brought mine down to 5 psi and it worked better, but with my new cam and high gears I just couldn't dial it in right so I have it on E-Bay now for sale. Went back to a 600 cfm 4 barrel and have no problems. I didn't really adjust my float valve as the high pressure was keeping it open. Bart
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Chevy and Denny, I have my fuel pressure regulator set at 4 lbs. I'll try to lower them an 1/8" and adjust the idle and see what happens. I am tempted to do as you did, Chevy, and go with the 4 bl intake and 600 holley I have setting on a shelf. Thanks, guys.

Know what you mean, Denny. It's like self inflected pain. Like my watching the Cubby's year after year. LOL.
