    potvin blower drive

OK, only the real old farts are gonna know what I'm talking about, but here goes... one of my friend's ( another old school, old timer, like me) has a brand new, in the box, polished potvin blower drive kit for a SBC. Manifolds, pipes, gaskets, sprockets ETC. complete. I want it for my FED nostailgia digger project. I want it, he wants me to have/use it, question is what's a fair price? I've done the usual searches and can't find a listing, or even a reference.
Any body have any input for me? TIA RED caddy (paul)

A friend of mine told me last week he just missed a chance to buy one for $500 in Utah. He's in tune with that sort of thing, so if he's interested in it at that price that's probably a minimum of what it's worth.

If it was mine, and it's NOS, I wouldn't take less than a grand, and I'd start higher than that! Someone will take it at that price. You can pay that much for a carburetor! Where is anyone going to buy one, anyway, and it's a considerable amount of work to manufacture another setup, which wouldn't be a nostalgia piece when finished.

If you do make the deal, find a way to incorporate a couple of SFI 23.1 manifold burst panels into the system. There's a reason this system didn't pass the test of time and the reason is that when the motor hiccups, you've got a pipe bomb on your hands

    Thumbs up

From the sound of it, he has a complete setup. Rare, bare manifolds go for $500+ on eBay. This is no manifold, and is probably one of the few survivors. Don't mean to spoil your fun, but I would think that a complete setup for a rare piece like that has got to be worth atleast $5K. But then again, since he is a friend of yours, maybe you could get some labor/parts trade in addition to some cold, hard, cash. This is a rare piece, and if you don't go through with putting it on your rod, I would suggest acquiring it as an investment. These dont come along everyday.
