Hey tech, wouldn't the lobe seperation dictate the idle quality? I always thought that 112-114 were factory lobe seperations and that a noticeable idle develops with around 110 and 106 could get down right ugly sounding. Of course this could depend on the engine size and make. Any thoughts?

I would suggest not going too radical, but go as radical on the cam grind that is acceptable with your compression ratio. That's what I would do anyway.
