I don't think you will loose any, you might gain some. a 2bbl TBI isn't as good as a 4bbl carb, because it is designed around economy. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

You might want to check if the carbed intake will fit. As I understand it, the Vortec has a completely different way of bolting on the intake manifold. The manifolds that aftermarket suppliers support are the non-Vortec engines built prior to 1992.
Now I don't know this to be fact, but I highly suggest checking to make sure a carb manifold will fit with those heads.---Tom

they do make carb manis for the vortec motors, but they tend to not be cheap.... check ebay for a general overviewjust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

edelbrock makes an intake manifold for it.the reason behind this is if it ever broke down on me what the hell would i do.i dont know squat about these computerized cars and chevy wont work on it,im just wanting to make it more reliable

it should have no problem handling a 600cfm, you'll have to change metering rods and jets more than likely... but nothing extreme.....just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
Several years ago we did quite a good trip of USA, and on our trip we got to meet Mike and Christine Frade. We didn't stay long with them, but in that relatively short time we both gained a great...
