    I did not know

     



    i have an 87 350 chevy engine im puting together for a week end cruiser . i was looking at the edelbrock street tunnel ram says it works good with stock or slightly modified heads however jegs says it wont work with 87 and newer heads why is this? will the older heads work on the 87 block it has a roller cam also

    the 87 and newer head has a dif. intake bolt pattern.

    Why a tunnel ram? They are not designed for "cruising" unless equipped with a throttle body and port fuel injection .........

    I'm with Kitz. Tunnel rams are designed for hi RPM operation, usually work best from about 4,000 RPM and up. IMO, not a good set up for cruising, unless you're just after the eye candy.

    ummmmmm. So people who don't know better will buy it?????

    They work on the street, just a lot more hassle then they are worth IMO. By the time you cruise around for awhile they engine is usually so loaded up it won't run worth a hoot. You can get a lot better performance off a single four barrel. Adorn it with lots of shinys and a steel braided line, it will look good too.

    had some on my big blocks they work great i used one with long runners and a mid plenum .yes you need to know how to tune it in and use the rigth cfm on the carbs . i had a in line autolite1200 cfm ?? ford carb on it had to make a top plate for the carb it was cool but i kept the hand made air cleaner with a mopar air filter on at all times the carb had Ford on the top of the carb

    on a cold day, going down the st. the fuel will ice up before it gets to the heads, and it want run at all.

    what about all these guys who come in these shows with tunnel rams and dual fours some how they seem to be able to drive theres this car will be lucky to see 500 miles a year i was going to run two 390s

    well i drove mine all the time. less now with the blower on it and never had a hard time with it can not be just me

    What did you have pat? i have a hard time believing that these street rods cant be cruised on the street with two fours

    i had a 454 ls6 with a soild roller cam and some head work . intake was old weiand and had two 600 holleys i made in to dual feed and rework the main bodys. the last two were two afbs carters on it and was happy with them i think they were 650 cfm
