    bypassing the nuetral saftey

ok so i put my transmission back in finally today, and went to fire her up, and it wouldn't start with the key even though i'm positive i hooked everything up, so i tried turning the coil on with the key and then crossing over the starter relay with a screwdriver and it fired right up.... so does anyone know how to disable the nuetral saftey switch on a c-4? since i'm pretty sure thats the problem, and until i replace it i'd like to drive the car without looking like I'm stealing it everytime i start it

There should be a 4 wire pigtail hanging in close proximity to the shifter arm on the trans. You need to jump two of the wires to complete the circuit. If you do that remember that the car will start in gear.

will it work if i just plug the two ends that come from the firewall together instead of plugging them to the tranny? or is one set for backup lights?

If the C4 wan't orinally in a floor shift car the bosses that mount the neutral safety switch might not be open. The C6 in my truck is that way.
