How can I improve my 350
I just bought this 57 chev truck and don't know much about it yet. I have the top end torn down and would like some ideas. The heads are stock (3970126), he put a torker II intake on it with an Edelbrock 750 carb. The rocker arm assembly is stock from what I can see. I don't know anything about the cam/crank/pistons. Is there something I can do to improve performance with what I've got on the top? Do I have the right combination for the top end? It's not a racer, just a street machine.

the heads are stock 67-71 327&350, don't know about combustion chamber cc's, Mortec has no info for that on these heads. The torker 2 is a single plain, not great for off idle performance like a dual plain, they like a fair amount of compression also, and run from 2,500 RPM. Get a Performer manifold, headders, light cam, a smaller carb, Holley 650 vac secondaries or somthing like that. You don't know what you've got til it's gone

is there a difference between a power plus cyclone dual plane and a performer dual plane? what type of "light cam" would you suggest?Last edited by FWW57; 04-05-2006 at 05:49 PM.
