Best Timing Solution
What is the best timing solution for a small block chevrolet? Is it chain or gear drive? If so what brands are trusted and have good customer service. Looking to install new chain set or geardrive on 5.7 with mild cam, nothing crazy.

Do you know of anybody who has custom made belt drives besides jesel and comp cams. They are a bit pricey. I know a pretty good machinist, do you think it would be possible to make a set?

Why would you use a belt drive on a mild cam? Even the cheesy factory continous mesh chains rarely failed within the lifetime of the engine. If you spend more than $20 on a timing set, you'll be happy with it. I personally have the Comp Magnum double roller set in my truck. It's like $29.
