I had a few 400's, they're a good torque engine but don't like revs. Had a '61 Boy Scout, too, put a 304 IHC V8 in it hooked to the stock 3-speed. Flipped the axles under the springs and had years of fun with that lil' Binder! I always fantasized about Anglia-style front end, and a "real" V8, slammed and smoothed, but sold it instead.

400 destroked to 377. Awesome rever, awesome performer, and i agree with the no tunnel ram. Unless you plan to do a lot of high reving long power pulls it isnt worth it, youll lose a lot on the low end as compared to mainstreem street/strip setup. Plus its also like double the pice lol.My cars, projects, and builds.

I guess you want the tunnel for appearences mainly on the street.I will tell you 75 percent of the people say NO,and 25 percent will tell you with the proper tuning NO problem.I wonder if maybe a 327 with a tunnel would be easier?

Your without a doubt right, it all depeneds an what its going to be used for. Drag racing, go for it. Street I would say no, because most of the power is in the higher end with a tunnel ram. With proper tuning it will without a doubt work, and work well, but you could go with say a team g manifold for instance, and make excellent power up high, and also have excellent in the mid. My main reason for sayign no, would be price, even used setups at car shows, swap meets, are stillg etting big $. Not to mention two carbs, linkage, lines. Its all on your wallet and preference. For looks, there is nothing like it though, but do you want a hole in your hood? or a huge cowl? It all boils down to your preference, but i guess so does everythign you could do to your car hahaMy cars, projects, and builds.
