it was parked because he was 73 years old ,and wanted a small newer car to drive. it had been a dailly driver when he parked it, 5 years ago, I have known the man all my life, my guess is that he went to change the plugs and never got back to it. I know that is was a sound running engine when he parked it in his garage. the car has been about 5 miles down the road from my house, been bothering him for the car for ten years, finally decided to sell it to me.
