yup it does sound like a vaccuum problem if it wont idle around 800.... might be idle mixture adjustments, those can change vaccuum quite a bit... and at 1100 those adjustments aren't actually being used because you're not running on an idle circuitjust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

no no it will idle at 600 in drive or maybe 500 in drive but it is at 600 or 500 in park it won't in drive see what i am saying it drops about 500 to 600 when shifted

ok got it 1 other thing does it matter were the pcv goes ?? on the carb ot on the manifold semms like the power breaks works best comomg from the bottom of carb not the manifold ....... but i will try the adjustment thanks for helping

ok heres what i got
power breaks hooked up to bottom carb
the tranny hooked up to intake manifold and no pcv
and at WOT no 4 bbl i used the paper clip
and the tranny shiftes about 4000 at WOT
and 800 rpm in park and 18lb vac
and 500 rpm in drive and 10lb vac
i have some pics also if you want to look

hey, big blocks son here...
this is my vaccum setup. got a line coming form the booster to the carb (look under the vaccum diaphram) and a line from the tranny hookup to the top of the manifold inlet.

WOT is wide open throttle
its a c4 auto ,,i said if i have it at 600 rpm in park it doesn't ,, its 800 in park
the paper clip thing is what some told me how to check is the 4 bbl is opening you can see in the pic from the link how we have the vac hoses hooked up

not a big block lol its a 65 mustang. 65 289 bored 30 over. 204/214 duration, 448/472 lift cam. plus some other stuff.

now that we have the power breaks hooked up and the tranny hooked up we also hooked up the pcv also to the intake mainfold it changes a lot the idel changes when we hooked that up
now we have in park 900 rmp and in drive 450 maybe 500 thats what i am talking about it drops too much almost won't stay running in gear
