I know there are kits for this but at $150 +, I know there are cheaper DIY ways of getting Water/ Alchahol injection, question is, what do I need? could I use a hydraulic brake light switch to activate the system when under boost, run a toggle switch to the brake light switch so it dosn't come on when I don't need it? what kind of resivore/ pump do I need? where to get the nozzle. do I spray before or after the turbo? it will be intercooled.

I would look at MSD part number 6462 the 6 BTM box.

I'm going to be running EFI, I need to run a locked advance so the Megasquirt II can take care of timing advance, I will program it to retard when under boost. MSII can do this with the VE tables and timing tables.

You can build a down-home type system with a Ford windshield washer bottle that has the 12v pump in the bottom for spraying the windshield. Rig up a little injector nozzle made from a blank Holley jet and drill it 0.030", bingo, you're in business. Need more water? Run two bottles. Need less water? Get some more jets and experiment. 0.030" will get you close.

Tech, will that work for alchahol also? I could buy another windshield washer bag and pump for my car, and hang it on the other side of the engine bay, it would almost look stock that way.

Back when I was young and knew everything, I built a WALC injecter for a 241 Hemi . An electric fuel pump and a nozzle from a field sprayer, with a throttle switch from a Chevy overdrive kickdown so the pump only ran at full throttle. I thought I could notice an increase in power with more spark advance, but it's easy to fool yourself about stuff like that.

Yeah, the best combination is 50% alcohol, 50% water. You'll get the cooling benefits and combustibility of alcohol and the combustion-slowing benefits of water. At the drug store or grocery, you can usually find quart bottles of 70% Isopropanol. Mix three of these with 2 quarts of water and you will have pretty close to a 50/50 mix.

In the whole scope of things, it doesn't matter if the alcohol is ethanol, methanol or isopropanol. Check the label on the windshield washer fluid at the local auto parts store. I'm not sure what the alcohol content is, but it may be cheaper than isopropanol at the grocery.

50% isopropel is $1 for a big container at the dollar store. I'll check the windshield washer fluid for alchahol content.

Windshield washer fluid is no good, its got detergent in it. Up here in the sub-arctic wastelands of Canada, we have stuff called gas-line anti-freeze thats pure alcohol and cheap in big bottles.

yep, we got that stuff too. called ISO-HEET, or at least, that's the brand with the most alchahol in it. they do sell it in small containers and big jugs. I think it's 98% alchahol.
