    Rocker Arm Studs

Help! I aquired a 1979 chevy P/U with 50,000 original miles that has been sitting for 7 years. after replacing a few items it ran fine. I parked it and attempted to start the next day, and 2 rocker arm studs pulled out 1/4". drilled/tapped and replaced those but every time it sits for a few days then starts another comes loose. what is causing this!!

has anything been changed like the cam or anything else that would affect rocker arm geometry? thats ussually a problem caused by excessive lift...... might also be cold weather not allowing the engine to warm up fast enough and so theres not enough expansion to keep the studs in place.... but to be honest i dont really know why
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

well they may not have enough press and in time the working of the rocker arm and when the head is new and green it in time get.s old and things move takes a set.and hot oil wicks the studs . have pull them out for screw in studs they can be bears and some come right out . this can happen on the same head . sizing not right with the stud or bore or both when you think about how much action this smiple press stud sees over 100.000 miles all the valve train parts should be laying busted in the valve covers
