Carb questions - using a Q-jet
What is the best way to plug unused port which DO NOT have a nipple sticking out (see pics with arrows below)? I was thinking of JBweld, or maybe tapping NPT, and then plugging. Someone here I figured would have the right answer.
Does anyone have a link so that I can identify (with the numbers shown in the pic below) the year, make, etc that this came off of? Want to know if there is anything "special" or unique I need to consider when putting this carb on my small block chevy.

The best way I have found to plug unused ports is with a wooden match stick and 2-part liquid epoxy. The plugs stand up well to engine heat, and never leak----But---if you find out later that you want to unplug the port (which does happen), then they are easy to drill out without damaging the parent metal casting on the carburetor.Old guy hot rodder

Thanks Denny. After doing quite a bit more research this morning, I found the carb to be a 1977 olds carb, produced in the 3rd quarter of 1976. It is a 49 state carb as well.
Does anyone know what kind of choke this is? It appears to have both an electric hookup and a hot air hookup (threaded fitting on the lower left of the choke black body). I need only an electric choke (aftermarket intake and exhaust).

Will an electric choke like this one fit my carb?
