Engine number help
Hello all,
I am new to this forum and am requesting some help identifying a ford straight six number. I have a 1963 ford flatbed truck with a straight six. The casting number on the block is C3AE-6015 space AC. Any help identifying this engine would be greatly appreciated. Looking for exhaust manifold or headers. Michael

Welcome to the forum! First, it works a lot better to start a new thread than pullling up a thread from seven years ago and tagging your question onto the end, especially if you want ongoing discussion on a question.
From what I know, the number you've posted is a basic casting number, and the only things it tells you are:
C - 60's decade
3 - third year, '63
A - generic full size Ford application
E - component type, Engine
6015 - Engine Base Assembly (block)
F - 6th engineering variation of the part
You need to look at the "Vehicle Warranty Number" (VIN), 5th position letter to see which engine came in the car originally.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Thanks , a lot Roger for help ,i know it's not easy to read the casting number because I confused from the VIN plate it mentioned V mean its 223 cid & the car is Ford Galaxie 1961 but I realized that they changed the engine.
VIN ( 1 E 52 V 147117 ) Body 54A TRANS. 1 AXLE 2
Thanks:
I know what you mean about the Holley pumps being noisy, had a couple of customers who used them. On the pumps I use I used to stuff rubber grommets in the mounting holes, but found that really...
