no oil pressure
I have a show coming up this weekend and took my 37 out for a ride. I was out about 40 miles when I heard and awful racket from my engine. Looked at my oil pressure gauge and it was at 0. My buddy came and towed me home. Procedded to take the oil pump out and it was full of valve seal material. Took the heads off and everything looked OK. Didn't burn a bearing but what surprises me was I had two broken valve springs on the passanger side. Check valve also had some material in it. Put new valve springs in, primed the pump, started it up and good oil pressure of 60 lbs. at idle and when it warmed it drop's to 15 and crusing at 60 it read 40 so I guess I lucked out. . Now if I can squeeze and 348 or 409 in the small engine comparement w/o any cutting, I'd be a happy man.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
