To a numbers matching collector type guy, if it has the right date code for what he's building, who knows? I've never had much luck selling anything to or doing work for the resto dudes, they seem to want everything done at half price, and the parts should be free.... Doubt many Hot Rod types would have any use for a 265, so you're probably stuck dealing with the collectors....Try Hemmings, look through the ads and see what similar blocks are selling for.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

for real.... those guys are all cheap.... thats why i give them half price quality on the labor.... and the free parts are the ones i was going to throw awayjust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

Is it the 265 block with no oil filter provision? If so, it should also have a raised shoulder just below the head mating surface (above the freeze plugs). If it were mine, I would try EGAY and really feature the "original" and "early" words and the lack of oil filter. If the restorer guys dont bite, then some nimrod may want it because of its "uniqueness" or something like that. Most of these were melted down to make water pipe years ago.
OOPS...just looked on EBAY....a complete, newly rebuilt 265 has zero bids at $1500. This tells me that it isnt worth the effort to try to sell it there.Last edited by robot; 08-01-2007 at 01:27 PM.

best way to get your moneys worth would be to coat it in aluminum and take it to a recycler and tell them its an aluminum engine block.... then you can get its wieght worth in cash at leastjust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
Thank you Roger. .
