    exhaust gas temps ?

Put a pyrometer on my car toady on the left side 3rd pipe.
I am running weedburners so i cant really get the whole picture but what should exhaust temps be 2 inches from the exaust port? i keep thinking the car is running rich now i am not shure.
temps at idle hot idle 700-driving 60 mph 20-21 vacum approx 950 -80 mph and the engine starting to actually work around 1050 to 1100 is this good ? doesnt seem like the temps for what i thought was a fat motor.
Any thoughts or input would be great

take the temps closer to the head like 1" and they should be around 1100-1200 under full load. i get my egt's around 1200-1300 on the race engines. but every engine is a little different. you should never just use the egt's for tuning there just a added tool. i have had some pro-stock engines at 1400 with the plugs showing just right. the hemi headed chevy stuff will show 1100deg and the plugs are just right. i only use the egt reads for a warning of something going bad in a run so i don't have a melt down. good luck.
