I 'VE GOT A 69 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD W/ A 472 ENGINE WITH A OIL PAN LEAK. THE PAN HAS A MIDDLE SUMP OR PICK UP,SO THE FRONT OF THE PAN IS OVER HANGING THE CROSS MEMBER AND THE REAR OF THE PAN IS OVER HANGING THE STEERING BAR. I REMOVED THE EXHAST THE COVER FOR TORQUE CONVERTER AND THE STARTER SO I COULD GET TO THE BOLTS ON THE SIDE OF THE OIL PAN.I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO WIGGLE IT AROUND TO GET THE PAN OUT, BUT NO SUCH LUCK! IF I PULLED THE MOTER MOUNT BOLTS AND LIFTED THE ENGINE DO YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE ROOM TO PULL THE PAN ALL THE WAY OUT WITH OUT DISCONNECTING THE TRANNY. I'VE ALSO REMOVED THE TIMMING CHAIN COVER / WATER PUMP TO REPLACE GASGETS AND FRONT ENGINE SEAL. IT WAS AGOOD THING I DID BECAUSE THE BOLTS WERE RUSTED SO BAD THAT THE COVER AND WATER PUMP WOULD'NT SEPERATE.COULD'NT FIND ANY ONE WHO SOLD A NEW TIMMIG COVER SO I BROKE THE BOLTS OFF THE WATER PUMP AND DRILLED THE TIMMING COVER AND THEN WELDED NUTS TO THE BACK SIDE OF THE TIMMING COVER SINCE I HAD TO DRILL THE THREDS OUT OF THE COVER IT'S SELF AND I'M HAVING A BLAST NOW! ANY IDEA WHAT IS THE BEST/EASYEST WAY TO GET THE PAN OUT WITH REMOVING THE ENGINE SO I CAN GIVE IT A GOOD CLEANING AND SOME NEW PAINT. THANKS:
