Put the 283 crank in the 350 block,it's not that expensive to do.
I'm putting together a .060 283 right now and at the same time buying parts for a 283 crank in a 350 block,(301-302) Already have the Z28 pistons,rods,forged crank,.But that'll be the last one.
After that I'm taking Eric and Denny's advice and going bigger.
