    lifter failure

what would cause multiple lifters to fracture aroung their bodies? I have had at least 60psi of oil, and the cam and lifter break in was as per manufacturer. There have been about 5,000 street miles on this engine all at or below about 3000 rpm.
I will get some pics on soon.

When you say you have "at least 60psi of oil pressure" what is your gauge telling you is your max oil pressure? Also, is this a street driver or strictly a 1/4 mile drag engine we are talking about here?

What I would guess is someone set the lifter with to much lifter pre-load.
