what kind of budget you on? an 11:1 compression motor with 150 shot of nitro is gonna require a lot of very expensive parts.... unless you want your baby blowing up her engine first coupla days driving it...... also sounds like her wallet will always be empty with the price of gas the way it is.... so you'll have to figure into your budget all the times she wants you to fill up her tank once you give us an estimated budget.... we can give you an estimated range of what you really can build.... besides if you're green as grass.... most not all, but most... peoples first engine if they try building something radical.... then they bought a really expensive brick..... but i'm not saying you're incompetant, just most people miss a few steps, including properly cleaning parts before assembly or not greasing right.... not plastigauging or not torqueing properly.....

For $5,000 to $6,000 you will be able to get into a 500+hp 383.
    With all the goodies.
To get 500+ hp out of a 383 you need good heads.
    a 195 cc AFR head,a Victor intake,keep your carb.
a hyd. roller cam with about 240 at .050 and .550 lift.
10.5 to 1 comp ratio, yes, this will run on 91/92 pump has.

make sure on your crank/rods/pistons go with the higher quality forged parts..... not fun having a rod break because you decided to go cheap.... god knows how cheap i used to be
