Even with headers I've always had good luck with stock fel-pro gaskets

It's better not to match the exhaust. If you have headers, the header side is usually bigger than the port side and that's what you want. The step keeps the low speed exhaust from flowing back into the cylinder. Makes more power.

I will check the Dart site for the recommended gasket. The reason is I have Hooker super comp headers and a couple of the pipes have like 1/8" of weld step in the opening.

Better get out the die grinder!!!! Sounds like Hooker's quality is deteriorating, too!!!! Some of the cheapie headers on the market have tube openings bordering on being more restrictive then a set of cast iron manifolds!!!!!!!

i've seen a lot JBA headers leaking when people put new ones on...... i had to get 3 sets to get one that didn't leak on a customers car.... i couldn't talk them into something else.... the thing i dont get is JBA is super expensive, why cant they test their product before shipping it out?
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
