valve covers and pcv routing
i've got an old truck w/a 350 out of an '89 camaro. it had aftermarket valve covers w/ breathers on each. things seemed to work well. i cut a hole in one cover and installed a pcv valve that i tee'd into the trans vacuum line. this is routed directly to the rear of the manifold. now on acceleration from idle i have a cloud of smoke that diminishes w/ speed but does not disappear. i figured the engine was sucking oil thru the pcv. i then took the pcv out and plugged the t. it's still burning oil but less and the breathers are leaking oil onto the xhaust. i'm now thinking of getting covers outta the junk yard to replace these. am i missing something obvious here? to complicate things further the carb is an electronic q jet of unknown origins. any help greatly appreciated. thanx, rick

Yep. And I seem to move 1 thing and it displaces something else with 1/2 of that landing on the workbench and then I forgot where I was going with this other thing and I'll see something else that...
