Turbine cars
I know the old Chrysler Turbine cars have been talked about a couple of times here so when I came across this site I figured I'd post the link.

Seems Chrysler started the program a lot earlier than I thought, clear back in 1954.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....

I had no idea that Chrysler started on them in the 50's!!!! Dad and I were at Indy the first year Granatelli brought a turbine there....Probably the most despised car to ever hit the track!!!! It was actually one of the last years we ever bothered going, the roadsters and the Offy's were gone and IMO it's never been the same since....
Not saying the turbine cars killed it, just one thing in a string of "advancements" (???) that ened an era....
Didn't mean to turn your Chrysler history thread into my own rant about the demise of Indy cars Mike, sorry........Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Yeah I remember when the Lotus body cars started taking over......I can't remember exactly what pi$$ed Granatelli off and caused him to bring the turbine car out but it sure came close to winning that first year.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
How much did Santa have to pay for his sleigh? Nothing! It's on the house! .
