    Distributor vacuum connection

Does the distributor vacuum hose have to be hooked up to the carb, or will an intake manifold fitting work? How much difference would the drivablilty or performance be effected on a manifold vacuum?

An intake connection should work fine. There is virtually no measurable difference in the pressure between the base of the carb and an intake runner/plenum.
