looks better BUT all them over lap joints and traps have to be clean from loose rust and any grit from sanding the oilpan .so i would fill the pan with water and molasses let sit fill past sump longer the better then take the pan set it so it will not fly around and wash it at the car wash or power wash it blow dry with a blow gun till dry and nothing comes out of the seams over lap s. i have a blow gun with a steel tube tip thats bent in a 90 so i can get at them over lap joints were they weld the sump on and blown clean till dry

About six years ago the wifey harvested our persimon tree in the fall, loaded up about a dozen boxes and gave them to our freinds, she ran out of boxes and loaded the rest in the wheel barrow and thru a canvas tarp over it. Well she forgot about it some three months later I went out to load some wood into it when I find this oozing mess comming out thru the bolt holes and when I removed the tarp it was all but fermenting, dumped it out in the back of the property and rinsed it out with the hose and it was completey stripped of all rust and paint looked as if had just been new stamped steel.
