Pat, I didn't realize roller rockers made more noise than regular ones. Don has them on his T but he runs open headers so you can't hear anything from the engine at all.
Thanks Steve. Yeah, Don felt I took a little hit when I sold him the 46 so he bought me these as a gift. I didn't expect it, but they do look nice on there, now it will allow me to get the covers off to work on the motor. I am going to give him the Edelbrocks for his bucket because he doesn't have the same clearance issues I do.
Oh, Steve, your buddy in the UK missed out on that 39 Ford and is still looking. It sold, according to an email he sent me.

well some rockers more then others but its not uncommon .i just tell guys you could hear abit more valve train sound .guy had a crate ford sbf wanted me to hear it.he could not get the valve train sound out . ran great had some miles on it told him to live with it or try stock rockers .i never look in to it much but some cam lobe s and fast bleed down lifters come in to play and most all this ends up in engines with roller rockers on topLast edited by pat mccarthy; 01-23-2011 at 10:52 AM.

Interesting - maybe mine are loud but just can't hear 'em - SVT 'E' roller cam, OEM roller lifters w/1.7 Crane roller rockers. I guess what my wife is saying - that I'm really almost deaf (thanks, Uncle Sam)Dave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
