Gary why not consider swapping the 2.2L for the 2.4L 16 valve engine. These perform very well in later Sunfires and large G5's and G6's. Find a wrecked one and swap over the electronics. I believe the trans bolt pattern is the same. (double check though)
Should make the little S truck scoot.

Thanks for the reply.I would consider your suggestion,but right now I really don't need another project.Thank you for your thoughts.

I am finding a boatload of 2.2's in my price range.Then not so many 4.3's Then even less 4.3's 5 speeds that are RWD's.
