The race version blocks talk about cam bearings moved up in the block and the size of big blocks.Does that mean they use bbc cams??. Really like two versions. The one that is a huge bore size I.E. 455 c.i. and the tall deck block.Both$$$$$.I is just easier to ask you guys than do a search.Have either of you built one or the other of those blocks and what was the end result??.Hp/torque??.

hi cam tall deck still ending up with a small bore .have i done one nope good wast of money when a 454 big block is were your trying to be at? still then were is heads$$ .no they do not use a bbc cam .but cam bearings but can go bigger to 55mm as they can take a better load were you end up with big valve springs . there were some sbc that used bbc head gaskets . heads . pistons . crank. cam. bore spacing was the same just a short deck bock much like a pro stock block . as close to this. i did work on a sbc in TX dragster when i was there

yep the 4.500 needs all custom parts . the eagle is just a tall deck block would not need as much as a 4.500 block but still wast of money less off shore or auto class racing were you must use a sbc and cid can be any size still trying to go were the bbc is in spades .like i said your trying to go were the old pro stock only short deck bbc was. were any bbc olds. chevy. pontaic . pro stock heads will bolt on much like this . PBM was working on a alum bbc more or alot less sbc base off a bbc that all parts bolted on and was called a sbc .what that did was open up a new world of large cam cores . 4.600 bores bbc bore spacing so any head made to bolt on a bbc would work .
