    well that and more then just valve lash any time i ever use them allways added them in the mix then work out the 1/2 to 1 full turn on set up and lash before the custom push rods . but it.s nice to see. pick A thickness box . hope there valves are set up better the .003+or.003-down from valve to valve and head deck could see were on a single shaft set up this could save time .i just done it the old way still will .delwest make some nice stuff.i have had many of there valves and super 7 retainers as well as trick titanium take out stuff is nice stuff . smallest size stem for a v8 race engine i played with is been 8mm that 7mm getting small right now Jerry i have a set of old dart 360 heads that have a set of delwest 2.400by6600 by 11/32 stems i cutting the face and keeper lock groove to 2.350 by 5.500 and the ex to cut from 1880to 1.850 so they do not shave on the over lap the 45s face angle just about step over the valve seat over lap i was going to50/ 55 face angle but i plane to drive this engine on the street go the angle may beat in the valve face faster and is it not a beryllium seat head. heads had new Ex seats put in them so getting to 1850 from 1880 was no big deal .old set of 360cc runnners i am going after. basing the Ex port off the ex side of the 355cnc head and may work the intake side to the 380 cnc pro 2 heads but do not want to move the intake port so much i will have to line the head bolt on them so we will see on that .i may flo them to see numbers heads are going on a 598 bbc Time-x 2 engine test mule see that we will see on the dyno for numbers just for fun

    These assortments are what we're using on some STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!! that is a little advanced for street driven or Saturday night cruise gatherings--------the rockers aren't adjustable and lash is done with either lashcaps or pushrod lengths(individually), sometimes maybe both----this isn't for between the rounds drag racing maintenance, It does a lot to eliminate one of the weak areas of high per engine design by eliminating loose floppy rockers or adjusting screws and lets the rocker arm be designed to an ultimate lever where we can use (at this time) ratios of up to 2.20 to one ( long ways from those old 1.5 ) and cam lobes with a different type shape for the lift/duration used--

    i think your forgetting that i used lash cap on and on real race engine that use titanium valves use them when needed with T&D rockers and jesel rocker arms there not much adjustment like i post . the rocker sets on stands there not a rocker stud in play were we many times have a pre set stand and a pre set that they give you on the valve length and spent many hours playing with set up stands on the mill more then any one on here other then you when thing s were not right ? or not .yes jerry i done more then one rocker set up like this on ford and chevy bbc and small blocks fact there some in may photos on here. i have use lash caps on the street when needed for the last 20 years thanks for playing me down

    Pat-I think that I may have poorly written this--------------My posting that was to point out to some OTHERS on here(not you, as you are probably the only other guy here that has the slightest inkling of the level of build that I'm referring to) that in these days of 10,000 rpm engines, the valve train has progressed to the level that the choice of components has removed the need for screw adjustments on the rockers which has allowed a much lighter/ stronger arm design.
    IIRC ( see I'm getting modern) didn't the flathead ford have a valve train that wasn't adjustable????????


    Is it snowing up there yet????? and are you going to PRI ???

    i would like to. now that it is not as far.they sent me paper work still up in the air. i am guessing not less i get the stroker ford engines and others are done at the shop??? .if i do i see you there? it.s snowed nothing big and not sticking as for now but if in stay cool it will soon be here to stay. yes the old flat heads only have done one was 37 caddy not bad fun .i like to do more but the guys around here must not like my price on doing them ?

    PRI---don't know what day we'll go but will leave early o dark 30 and return same day with stop off at the Beef House I 74 and Ill/Ind border---

    sounds like a good time i enjoy a good meal long as beef is on the plate . no thats not the block i welded about 6 bbc in the valley two were i put in or fixed the lifter bores others were frozen. well to be honest about the PRI deal is if i want to go i could the work could wait . but the drive and all the walking would be to much for me in one day so i would have to find someone that could go with me and help drive if i get sick. then stay over for the night. last one i went to was back when they had it in Ohio. was along day for me and i was alot younger then .i like to see some of my friends i deal with every week and there are two that if i see them i like to give them a good hug around the neck till blue if you know what i mean
