Exhsust system
Building a 1937 Caddy with a LS 2 engine. Looking at the exhaust system and wondering if I really need to put an X or H pipe in the system or can I just go straight dual exhaust. Will performance be hurt to any great degree ? Thanks for inputs.

The crossover pipes equalize the pressure downstream, letting each exhaust pulse use both mufflers. There's a HP & Torque gain, but mainly at the top where you'll very seldom see it on a cruiser. They change your exhaust sound some, the H adding lows and the X adding highs. I thought about an H pipe on the '32, but only for about 5 minutes....

I've used both X and H pipes on some builds and really the only thing that was noticeable was the change in exhaust sound.....I tend to agree with Rodger that any benefit you'd actually see/feel is at an RPM you'll seldom if ever push the car to.
.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
