Hey, PRO Z
Does Zion, Illinois still have their Scoop the Loop every year? Seems like it was in July. I went in 1988, 89 and 90 back when I was living in Rolling Meadows. (before the ex drug me out to Bonney Lake, Washington)
It was always lots of fun with run hard afternoon, etc. Kind of miss it.

Well, thanks anyway PRO Z, just took a chance you might know. If you ever hear let me know. Maybe I could make it next year. (just like the Cubs, there's always next year, right?)Duane S

Hey PRO Z, the only excuse I can come up with is the ol'timers must be eating my brain.
You are so right, Scoop the Loop was in Waukegan. (heavily policed)
Now I am going to be racking my brain all night to remember the name of the event in Zion.
It was far cooler and like I said earlier, they let you get away with a lot on the main drag during the afternoon. They even kept pedistrians off the street on purpose for the rodders. Oh, well, I finally remember the name of it some day.Duane S

I had to deliver some signs there a few years ago. When you drive up the road to the entrance, there's this old farm house sitting on a hill in the foreground and these gigantic cooling towers off in the distance. Only the farm house looks like a little toy compared to the towers in the background ................ They are impressive to say the least."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Nah, STREETS, not Mt. Zion, but Zion (due north of Waukegan about 4 miles). Thanks for the references anyway.Duane S
